Curriculum Connections for Special Educational Needs (SEN) & Inclusion
On this page
The resources below show connections across the curriculum. These have been developed to help schools address aspects of education that are significant for learners in Northern Ireland. Many of the resources support government priorities that are important for individual, social and economic wellbeing.
Thematic Learning
We have developed resources on a range of themes to help teachers plan structured teaching and learning opportunities for their learners. These resources can motivate learners by showing them the relevance of, and connections in, what they’re learning.
Teachers have considerable flexibility to deliver the curriculum through themes and topics that are appropriate to their learners’ abilities and interests. These resources support teachers in combining learning across the different Areas of Learning to make relevant connections for their learners.
The resources below are organised by year group and/or Area of Learning.
These Thematic Units for Key Stage 1 learners with severe learning difficulties support teachers in planning, teaching and assessing Personal Development and Mutual Understanding.
