Ofqual App - Qualification Explainer Tool
CCEA Regulation continues to work with Ofqual on the extraordinary awarding arrangements for general and vocational qualifications for summer 2020.
On Friday 22 May, following a public consultation, Ofqual published the regulatory framework for extraordinary awarding of qualifications in summer 2020. One of the key principles is that students will be awarded calculated grades in GCSEs, AS and A levels this summer. The majority of learners taking similar general, vocational or technical qualifications (VTQs) for progress to university or employment will also be issued calculated grades, with adapted assessments in place for many other VTQs.
To coincide with the publication of the framework and to help navigate the approach for qualifications this summer, Ofqual has launched an online interactive tool – the Qualification Explainer Tool to allow learners, and other users of VTQs, to understand what is happening with the qualifications. The Qualification Explainer Tool covers qualifications regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA Regulation (in England, Wales and Northern Ireland respectively).
