CCEA launches surveys to gauge impact of Period Dignity Pilot Scheme
CCEA is conducting two surveys, one for teachers and one for pupils, to gain insight into the implementation and impact of the Period Dignity Pilot Scheme since its launch in September 2021.
Survey responses will inform the Department of Education and CCEA on the effectiveness of the scheme so far and be used to make a case for the ongoing provision of period products to Northern Ireland schools.
The NI Executive is funding the Period Dignity Pilot Scheme which provides free period products to all schools in Northern Ireland and educational support to help break the stigma and taboo around periods.
CCEA has launched a bespoke online Teacher Professional Learning Programme for schools and work on Primary and Post Primary resources on Period Dignity and Menstrual Wellbeing is underway.
These surveys are open to all pupils and teaching staff in Northern Ireland schools and should only take about five minutes to complete*. All responses are confidential.
*There are additional questions in relation to the implementation of the Period Dignity Pilot Scheme for teachers who are a school Key Contact as part of this project. These questions provide the opportunity to express views on support available, the procurement process and how the scheme might be improved.
Please send responses by Monday 24 January 2022.
