Period Dignity Pilot Scheme Launch
The Education Minister, Michelle McIlveen, has launched a Period Dignity Pilot Scheme in collaboration with CCEA and the Education Authority.
The scheme aims to ensure products are available to pupils in Northern Ireland where and when they need them, as well as providing educational support to all schools.
Later this term, CCEA will launch a set of curriculum resources focusing on facts about menstruation, menstrual wellness and challenging negative attitudes, stereotypes and gender inequality around periods.
CCEA will also be providing an online teacher professional learning programme for primary and post-primary schools later this term to support the delivery of these resources in the classroom.
For further information on the Period Dignity Pilot Scheme, please visit our new dedicated web area with details of how schools will be kept informed on the project’s progress throughout this academic term.
