Today Ofqual has published two consultations on its proposals for summer 2021 awarding in England in response to the cancellation of GCSE and A level examinations this year.

The consultation on GCSEs, AS and A levels reflects the direction given to Ofqual by the Secretary of State for Education in England. These proposed arrangements will also apply to qualifications offered by AQA, Pearson , Eduqas and OCR.

Ofqual also released today, a consultation on the proposed awarding arrangements for vocational qualifications in England.

At CCEA, we are continuing our work and providing advice to the Department of Education (DE) and other educational partners on the alternative awarding arrangements for CCEA qualifications. We are also providing advice to the Department for the Economy (DfE) on vocational qualifications.

We fully understand the challenging situation faced by students, teachers, schools and colleges and are committed to providing solutions as soon as possible.
