CCEA Post-Results Service live for Summer 2021

CCEA’s Post-Results Service for 2021 is now live for those students that may wish to challenge their Summer 2021 grade. This year, once again, CCEA’s Post-Results service will be free to so students can benefit from the wide range of resources available.

This year, the Service involves a two-stage process.

Stage 1, a Centre Review, aims to quickly identify and correct any administrative or procedural errors made by schools or colleges regarding Centre Determined Grades (CDGs). If a student has a query following receipt of grades, they must speak to their school or college in the first instance. Crucially, students will be able to request access to all the information used to determine their grade so that they can make an informed decision before requesting a review.

If a student remains dissatisfied with the outcome of the school or college’s decision, the next option is to seek a Stage 2 Appeal to CCEA Awarding Organisation. This will involve Independent Reviewers, appointed by CCEA, reviewing all the information provided in support of an appeal.

CCEA will offer a priority service for those students who have a Higher Education place dependent on the outcome of an appeal. In these instances, students should also inform their first-choice university or other provider that they are making an appeal so that they can decide how to handle your offer.

Students should be aware that grades may go up, go down, or stay the same.

Schools and colleges may set internal deadlines to make sure their students meet the following deadlines for submission to CCEA:

  • Priority Appeals to CCEA -- Monday 23 August 2021
  • All other appeals to CCEA – Friday 17 September 2021

The Post-Results Service section of the CCEA website is available 24/7 and includes a range of information aimed to help students and parents access the information they need quickly and clearly. For example, a Student and Parent guide is available to download which outlines the Post-Results Service step-by-step. In addition, a comprehensive explainer video also outlines how this years’ Post-Results Service will work, and both provide the key dates for results and timelines for appealing results. There is also a list of frequently asked questions, and links to resources aimed to help with student wellbeing.
