Summer 2021

Today CCEA received instructions from the Department of Education, outlining the Minister’s decisions in relation to the delivery of GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications for the academic year 2020/21. CCEA will now implement the arrangements required to ensure that learners in Northern Ireland have the opportunity to achieve their GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications.

We note the Minister’s priority that examinations will go ahead if at all possible and this will remain our focus.

We will continue to contribute to the Department of Education’s work on logistical arrangements for examinations in the current public health context. The public health context can change quite quickly so we will also continue to work to develop contingency arrangements which will be available should they be needed.

CCEA will shortly provide detailed subject information to teachers and learners. All information will be published in our Summer 2021 section.
