CCEA Launches Student Resource on Health and Wellbeing
At CCEA we recognise this is a difficult time for everyone. Especially for our young people their families and loved ones.
There are many new things to get used to including social distancing, school closures and exam cancellations. We appreciate these changes may contribute to feelings of uncertainty about the future.
As part of CCEA’s commitment to raise awareness, and help promote the health and wellbeing of young people, we have worked with NICCY (Northern Ireland Commission for Children and Young People) to produce a short, supportive resource called, ‘12 Ways to Support Your Health and Wellbeing’.
Koulla Yiasouma, Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People:
“These are difficult and uncertain times for everyone, and as Commissioner for Children my particular focus is on how the pandemic is affecting our children and young people.
“Every day our young people and their families face new challenges, whilst trying to make sense of the world around them. Inevitably this creates additional stress and strain for many children and young people and this can negatively affect their mental health and welling.
“It is essential that young people can access the right support and information to help them navigate a safe path through this unprecedented and often unpredictable time in their lives.
“Young people focused resources such as CCEA’s 12 Ways to Support Your Health and Wellbeing can play an important part in this and are therefore very much welcome.”
CCEA and NICCY encourage all our young people to keep talking - reach out for support when needed from families, friends, school teachers and relevant organisations. Equally we encourage everyone to keep offering their support to others.
