Today CCEA received instructions from the Department of Education, outlining the Minister’s decisions in relation to further modifications to the delivery of GCSE, AS and A-Level examinations.

CCEA welcomes this decision by the Minister, which takes into account the disruption caused to the 2020/21 academic year as a result of the pandemic. CCEA will now implement these arrangements so that all students in Northern Ireland have the opportunity to achieve their GCSE, AS and A level qualifications.

CCEA will shortly provide an update on the arrangements, including more detailed information where applicable, to all teachers and students. This information will also be available in the Summer 2021 section of the CCEA website.

While this work is ongoing, CCEA will continue to contribute to the Department of Education’s work on logistical arrangements and contingency plans should any further changes to the public health situation arise.
