Foundation Stage Online Courses 2018
Foundation Stage UICT
All of the Foundation Stage UICT has been put into one course for ease of access. In this course you will find the following sections;
Developmental Stages in Learning
Using ICT
This is the original course which was part of the Foundation Stage online support for the Cross-curricular Skills.
Coordinating ICT: Holy Trinity PS Belfast
These videos show how an ICT Co-ordinator has integrated Using ICT into the Foundation Stage in her school and includes the relevant questions from the ETI ISEF framework.
These videos show how Glencraig created a ‘buddy system’ in Years 1 and 6 to facilitate the development of ICT, PDMU and thinking skills. The course includes the relevant questions from the ISEF framework.
Engaging Boys
These videos show how two schools, Dunmurry and John Paul II, have managed to improve children’s experiences and enhance outcomes in learning for both boys and girls in Foundation Stage.
There are also some reflective questions to stimulate discussion about your provision for both boys and girls.
The Learning Environment
In this course you can view the approach taken to the learning environment by two schools, St Comgall’s Bangor and St Mary’s, Altinure. Both schools have focussed on their unique learning environment: St Comgall’s has reviewed their pedagogical practice while St Mary’s has concentrated on play-based learning using their indoor and outdoor learning environment.
Tracking Progression
Tracking progress is an important part of the whole-school internal standardisation process. What is the evidence that children make continuous progress, year-on-year and across key stages? This course illustrates the work of pupils to show the range of ability in each class: high, middle and low.
