CCEA Essential Skills Level 1 Communications external examinations will not take place as scheduled. 

Due to prolonged and severe weather conditions and the decision by DE to close schools on Tuesday 17 October 2017, CCEA Essential Skills, Communications, Level 1  external examination will not take place as scheduled.

This examination will now take place on Friday 20 October 2017 at 09:30.

The Essential Skills, Communications, Level 2 examination scheduled for Wednesday 18 October will take place as scheduled.

Candidates unable to take the rescheduled Essential Skills, Communications, Level 1 examination on Friday 20 October will have another opportunity to take the examination in January 2018.

Schools, Colleges and Training Centres are requested to retain the Essential Skills, Communications, Level 1 examination paper, unopened in their secure storage until Friday 20 October, when normal Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) Instructions for Conducting Examinations rules apply.
