This is an excellent resource site for teachers giving insight into all main world religions. It is easily navigated and the information given can be adapted by teachers to be pupil friendly – the site itself may not be specifically pupil friendly at KS3. The BBC Northern Ireland citizenship web site has an excellent resource on world religions that can easily be used by pupils. There is also a good section on Prejudice, sectarianism and racism within Northern Ireland.

This is a detailed resource for teachers giving information about the main religious beliefs in the UK including timelines, history, beliefs, worship and a calendar of festivals. There is an a-z of religious terms, a time line for each religion and information about the religious breakdown in England and Wales from the 2001 census.

This site is specifically for secondary Religious Education in England/Wales and gives general information about most of the major world religions including information on origins, beliefs, traditions and worship. It also contains projects that have been completed by Year 8/9 pupils in RE. Clip art is also available in some religions.

An excellent, easily navigated site that has both a teacher and a pupil section. There are a number of useful resources included on this site and a comprehensive search facility. The People of Faith section gives insight into individual’s view of their faith. Although specifically related to the curriculum in England and Wales the site offers a number of good resources in terms of places of worship.

The pupil site is easily accessed and allows pupils to research into a number of topics giving links to sites appropriate to their age.

Under the a-z search facility there is a micro site on Faith and Belief that gives comprehensive information about some of the world religions including origins, festivals and beliefs with links to channel 4 programmes and other sites. The site contains a variety of information about world religions and can link to a virtual trip of the Hajj in Islam.

Conduct a search for Religious and Moral Education. The first site entered then gives information and resources based on the Scottish 5-14 RME syllabus. There is a useful glossary of terms (with pronunciation) and images that can be used for resources or presentations.
