Using ICT
The resource presents pupils with the opportunity to develop their Using ICT skills in the disciplines of Desktop Publishing and Working with Sound. Completing tasks in poster-making and scripting and recording a news bulletin requires pupils to use Comic Life and Audacity (recommended software) to realise their ideas and showcase their learning in a digital capacity.
Working in groups or pairs and completing the tasks using these software packages also provides pupils with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities.
Communication
The resource provides pupils with the opportunity to develop their talking and listening, reading and writing skills through independent learning and group activities. Completing the ICT and creative writing tasks enable pupils to express themselves, develop as individuals, engage with others and improve skills that will help them to contribute as members of society.
