The Minecraft quests have been signposted within the Vikings ICL for teachers. Learners enter the CCEA Minecraft Viking World to complete the quests. We have carefully designed these activities to align to the curriculum so that pupils are applying learning through online gaming.

Quests
These quests are signposted within the CCEA Vikings ICL. They are designed to align to the curriculum so that pupils are applying learning through online gaming. They are for use with Minecraft: Education Edition.
Viking Roles Quest
Having had the chance to explore their Viking world children have the opportunity to create their own fully functioning society by carrying out tasks such as farming and making bread.
Viking Celebration Quest
Children have the opportunity to explore how Vikings lived communally, using a longhouse for gatherings, meals and celebrations. Children will prepare a feast for one of the festivals you have researched.
Viking Ship Building Quest
Children have the opportunity to use what they have learned to design a Viking longship and stock it for trade or war.
Viking Raid Quest
Children have the opportunity to fortify their Viking village. Next, they will plan and carry out a raid on a neighbouring village.
Mission to Rathlin Island Quest
Children have the opportunity to visit Rathlin Island to carry out an archaeological dig.
Viking Mythology Quest
Children have the opportunity to create their own Viking saga and bring it to live by creating a Machinima movie. Later children will prepare to battle the Nidhogg.
Discussion Cubes
As part of the plenary to each STEM in Minecraft activity, use the most appropriate discussion cubes as an enabler for explicit reflection of the skills applied throughout.
