Northern Ireland's farming and food industries have been identified as areas that have the biggest role to play in terms of growing our economy. Specific recommendations for industry to exploit its capabilities include food, ingredients, diet and health.
As a result, Home Economics in the curriculum has a pivotal role in supporting young people as they prepare for careers in these key areas and, as such, has much to offer in terms of contributing to the recommendations of the STEM Review.

Cheese Sensation
Pupils explore diet and health issues as they take part in a scenario-based challenge. They also develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the areas of nutrition, health guidelines, labelling regulations, advertising and marketing.
