Scamwise at Key Stage 3

This resource has been jointly produced by CCEA and the Consumer Council on behalf of the ScamwiseNI partnership. The activities aim to help pupils learn about the different types of scams, both offline and online and raise awareness of how identity theft can happen. They will be able to recognise how they can protect themselves, family, friends, schoolmates, neighbours and people living in their community.

These activities aim to help pupils learn about the different types of scams both offline and online. Resources are included for sharing good practice with family and friends.

This interactive activity encourages pupils to use the 4 SCAM Test Rules and decide if each scenario is safe or a scam.

These scams are a little more grown up. Pupils can try these scenarios at home with their family. Use the 4 SCAM Test Rules and decide if each scenario is safe or a scam.

Phishing for Trouble

These activities aim to help pupils learn how identity theft can happen. Pupils recognise ways they can protect their personal information and empower themselves, their family, friends and community to avoid a variety of scams, including phishing, vishing and smishing.

Don’t take the Bait!

This interactive activity encourages pupils to practice their anti-phishing skills by deciding which posts are trustworthy and which are suspicious.
