There has been unprecedented growth in both the gambling and gaming industries over recent years and, with the increase in online access this is set to continue. Emerging research is beginning to raise concerns that there may be associated harms that could impact negatively on our young people.
Gambling and gaming related harm can be financial, relational, emotional, psychological, and/or physical and it impacts on the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities, regardless of wealth, education, or gender.
CCEA has developed a series of free, easy to use resources to support schools seeking to raise pupil awareness of gambling and gaming.

GwL is a charity set up in 2018 by families bereaved by gambling-related suicide. Research suggests there are up to 650 gambling-related suicides every year in the UK. That’s why in 2021 GwL launched a ground-breaking education programme, which aims to provide young people with as much information as possible so that they know the risks of engaging with harmful gambling products.
