Assessment for Learning for Key Stage 3
Assessment for Learning (AfL) is used for formative purposes, and it is built into the learning process. It can help inform both teachers and pupils how the learning is progressing, and it focuses on how to make improvements.
AfL complements the range of assessments carried out in school. The Northern Ireland Curriculum strongly recommends that AfL is incorporated into the classroom, as it offers significant advantages for pupils.
