Assessment Arrangements for Key Stage 3

Assessment Arrangements for Key Stage 3

From September 2012, new assessment arrangements have been in place to support the Northern Ireland Curriculum. These include arrangements for assessment of the Cross-Curricular Skills of Communication, Using Mathematics and Using ICT in Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.

During Key Stage 3, teachers should assess and report pupils' progress with reference to the Levels of Progression for Communication, Using Mathematics and Using ICT. Schools are also required to report numerical outcomes to parents and to CCEA at the end of the key stage.

From 2017–18, moderation processes also are in place to quality assure outcomes for Communication, Using Mathematics and Using ICT.
