Foundation Stage
CCEA developed a three-year regional programme consisting of one-off, face-to-face Capacity Building sessions for Foundation Stage (FS) Co-ordinators. These sessions took place from 2017 to 2019, and a total of 638 teachers attended.
The purpose of the sessions was to help facilitate the Learning Leaders Strategy by supporting the FS Co-ordinator to make links between the strategy, the documentation and the support materials currently available. Please follow these links to access the relevant documentation:
- The Department of Education publication Learning Leaders: A Strategy for Teacher Professional Learning
- ETI Chief Inspector’s Reports
- ETI Inspection and Self-Evaluation Framework (ISEF).
CCEA has also developed a dedicated online area with courses and information for Foundation Stage teachers: Foundation Stage: Teacher Professional Learning. This contains the following eight resources:
- Tracking Progression
- Transition and Engaging Parents
- Observational Assessment
- Practice and Progression
- Using ICT
- Engaging Boys
- The Learning Environment
- Classroom Assistants.
Three more resources will be available in 2020.
We are also carrying out a short online survey on how useful the courses are to you. See the Foundation Stage TPL Courses Questionnaire here.
