The #ShoutOutForGerman campaign is now live and we look forward to your participation!
“#ShoutOutForGerman” is a celebration of German language in the UK and is a week-long social media campaign aimed at anyone who learns, learned, teaches or taught German in the UK.
We want UK social media users (individuals, schools, universities and other organisations) to use ‘#ShoutOutForGerman’ and tag the German Embassy London in social media posts between 17 and 21 March 2025 and give a huge shout-out to all things German language in the UK. Posts can range from showcasing your school activities, favourite German words, travel memories, or even a clip of you dancing to a viral German song. Whether it’s a quick shout-out to your favourite German teacher, an homage to German traditions or your favourite German TV show – anything goes and will highlight the impact of German in classrooms, on campuses, and beyond.
Together with the Goethe-Institut UK and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Embassy London invites you to participate in the campaign. You can find the call on the Embassy’s website. Here you will also find links to the Goethe-Institut’s and the DAAD’s offerings for schools (teachers and pupils) and universities (students) respectively.
This campaign is a part of the German Ambassador’s initiative “Making the case for German”. We are counting on you and your participation to make this week-long campaign a success by spreading cheer and positive stories around German language learning, teaching and speaking in the UK. All are welcome to participate.

We would be most grateful if you could please also spread the word among your networks.
