Level 2 Employability Skills (2010)
Following the cancellation of examinations, the Occupational Studies, Vocational and Entry Level qualifications Summer 2021 Alternative Arrangements - Process for Heads of Centre provides information on alternative awarding arrangements for Summer 2021. Please note that the last opportunity for assessment for this qualification is Summer 2021; after that, the qualification will be withdrawn. In 2020 and 2021 the assessment is available in Summer only.
CCEA Awards in Employability Skills are available at Level 1 and Level 2. These qualifications help prepare learners when they are first looking for work or training opportunities.
This specification is designed to develop learners’ skills in:
- completing job searches;
- filling in job applications;
- interview techniques;
- working with others;
- understanding work principles; and
- business and customer awareness.
Assessment for Employability Skills is based on a portfolio of evidence. There is no written examination or external test. The centre assesses the evidence that learners produce, then we moderate it.
At Level 2, learners must choose any two units from Group A and two units from Group B:
- Business and Customer Awareness
- Problem Solving in a Place of Work
- Working in a Team
- Understanding Work Principles
- Following Instructions
- Working with Colleagues
- Job Search Skills
- Job Application Skills
- Health, Safety and Security in a Workplace.
Skills developed through Employability
This qualification gives learners the opportunity to develop and demonstrate skills in working with others, understanding work principles, and business and customer awareness. Employability Skills assists learners in developing skills when first looking for work or training opportunities. It can also develop skills and knowledge that will be relevant when they are looking for employment to further advance their careers.
