Entry Level Physical Education (2015)
The CCEA Entry Level PE specification gives learners the opportunity to develop their interest in and enjoyment of physical education. It develops employability skills and body management in a range of activities.
This qualification builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills developed through the Physical Education Area of Learning.
It gives learners opportunities to develop their learning in a practical context.
The specification provides a progression route to further learning. It also helps develop skills that prepare learners for working and adult life.
Entry Level qualifications can help learners to expand their knowledge, increase their confidence and demonstrate achievement. This includes some who might not be ready for a course at GCSE level or equivalent.
This specification is made up of units, and learners can gain a qualification at Entry Level 1, 2 or 3. For each unit, learners produce a portfolio of work to show how they’ve met the assessment criteria; there are no exams.
There are nine units.
- Unit 1: Healthy Active Lifestyle is mandatory.
Learners choose five more units from:
- Unit 2: Creative Activities
- Unit 3: Leisure for Pleasure
- Unit 4: Net Games and Wall Games
- Unit 5: Adventurous Activities
- Unit 6: Striking Games
- Unit 7: Invasion Games
- Unit 8: Fitness and Athletic Activities
