Details of the applications used and the process for the mandatory GCSE subjects.
GCSE Agriculture & Land Use
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Receive sampling details for GAU31 Agriculture and Land Use via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events; NB samples submitted must be labelled with the centre number/candidate number and placed in rank order;
- Comments on eCRS are not compulsory but can be made if the teacher wishes to make a point not previously noted in the annotation on the work. If a candidate is awarded a mark of zero for any criteria the comments box should be completed to indicated if the zero is because:
- Work provided not worth any marks;
- No work has been provided for this criteria for assessment; or
- Teacher is unable to authenticate the work provided.
GCSE Art & Design
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Each component will be sampled separately and will be based on the marks submitted;
- Marks to be submitted to CCEA by the date specified on the Calendar of Events/eCRS screen;
- Comments on eCRS are not compulsory, but can be made if the teacher wishes to;
- Sampled candidates to have printed eCRS’s accompanying displayed work;
- Remaining candidates to have printed eCRS’s for the moderator, in rank order;
- A rank order of candidates must be provided for the moderator. This can be reproduced from the eCRS screen by using the sort facility at the Total Mark (Highest to Lowest), or the marks can be copied from the excel mark sheet tab and sorted in rank order;
- Centres are no longer required to produce or retain their own hard copies of record sheets, only a single copy for the moderator as noted above;

GCSE Business & Communication Systems

GCSE Contemporary Crafts
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;

GCSE Digital Technology
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Receive sampling details for GDG31/GDG51 Digital Technology via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Use eSubmission to upload work for sampled candidates by the date specified in the Calendar of Events; after the sample is generated teachers will have access to go back into the candidate record sheets and add comments for sampled candidates if they choose to;
- Follow the instructions set out in the document ‘Preparing Samples for Moderation’ to help you prepare your Digital Technology sample folders for moderation;
- Teacher comments on eCRS are only required if centre feels the need to justify a mark awarded or has an issue they wish to make CCEA aware of. Comment is not compulsory. However, if a candidate is awarded a mark of zero for any criteria the comments box should be completed to indicate if the zero is because:

- No work has been provided for this criteria for assessment; or
- Teacher is unable to authenticate the work provided.
GCSE Drama
GCSE Drama (Product G9261)
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Guidance on drawing samples will be provided in the Instructions to Teachers booklet;
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events. NB samples submitted must be labelled with the centre number/candidate number and placed in rank order;
- The chosen discipline is required on each candidate’s eCRS;
- Comments by the teacher must be completed for sampled candidates;
- If a candidate is awarded a mark of zero for any criteria the comments box should be completed to indicate if the zero is because:

GCSE Drama (Visit G9262)
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Marks to be submitted to CCEA by the date specified on the Calendar of Events/eCRS screen;
- Centres choose own sample to submit to CCEA (including top and bottom candidates and a range of marks. Please submit the lowest number of groups possible to make up the requirements of the sample. Normal rules for more than one teaching group apply);
- The chosen discipline is required on each candidate’s eCRS;
- Comments by the teacher must be completed for sampled candidates;
- Sampled candidates to have their eCRS’s printed prior to the moderator’s visit;
- eCRS’s for non-sampled candidates do not need to be printed, unless requested by the moderator during their visit.
GCSE Engineering & Manufacturing
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Receive sampling details for GEM11 Engineering and Manufacturing via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events. NB samples submitted must be labelled with the centre number/candidate number and placed in rank order;
- Comments by the teacher are optional;

GCSE English Language / GCSE English Literature
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Receive sampling details for GEN31 English Language and GEL31 English Literature via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events for each applicable series. NB samples submitted must be labelled with the centre number/candidate number and placed in rank order;
- There is no facility to leave comments on eCRS. All comments should be made in annotation on work;
- To avoid duplication of inputting tasks and themes, CCEA recommends using Centre Moderation Record Sheets (links below) to identify tasks, attribute codes to them and input these codes on the eCRS. This CMRS should be enclosed hard copy with the samples submitted. In a change to previous arrangements, tasks and titles can be recorded on either the eCRS or on a cover sheet accompanying each sampled candidate’s work.
GCSE English Language - Speaking and Listening GEN21 (Visit)
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Marks to be submitted to CCEA by the date specified on the Calendar of Events/eCRS screen;
- Guidance on drawing samples will be provided in the Instructions to Teachers booklet;
- Rank order for each class can be reproduced from the eCRS application by filtering on the teacher code, then using the sort facility at Total Mark (Highest to Lowest);
- eCandidate Record Sheets to be printed in accordance with guidance in Instructions to Teachers booklet.
GCSE Gaeilge
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Candidate marks for these components can be transferred from a previous series;
- Receive sampling details for G9571 & G9573 Gaeilge via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Use eSubmission to upload G9571 speaking tasks for sampled candidates to CCEA by the date specified in the Calendar of Events;
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events – G9573 written tasks only;
- Teacher comments on eCRS only required if the centre has an issue they wish to make CCEA aware of. Comment is not compulsory, however, if a candidate is awarded a mark of zero for any criteria the comments box should be completed to indicate if the zero is because:
- Work provided is not worth any marks;
- No work has been provided for this criteria for assessment; or
- Teacher is unable to authenticate the work provided.
GCSE Gaeilge (Visit G9572)
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Marks to be submitted to CCEA by the date specified on the Calendar of Events/eCRS screen;
- Guidance on drawing samples will be provided in the Instructions to Teachers booklet;

GCSE Health & Social Care
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Receive sampling details for GHL21 Health and Social Care via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events. NB samples submitted must be labelled with the centre number/candidate number and placed in rank order;
- There is no comment box provided on the eCRS. Any comments should be made in annotation on the work.
GCSE Home Economics: Child Development
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Receive sampling details for GCD31 Child Development via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events. NB samples submitted must be labelled with the centre number/candidate number and placed in rank order;
- Teacher comments on eCRS are only required if the teacher wishes to make a point not previously noted in the annotation on the work, or if a candidate has been awarded a mark of zero for any criteria. In this instance the comments box should be completed to indicate if the zero is because:

GCSE Home Economics: Food and Nutrition
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Receive sampling details for G9522 Food and Nutrition via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events. NB samples submitted must be labelled with the centre number/candidate number and placed in rank order;
- For the practical of GCSE Food & Nutrition Component 2, comment is required, but this can be on either the eCRS or the hard copy Comments Sheet. This sheet is available via the GCSE Home Economics: Food and Nutrition (2017) qualification assessment page;

- Moderator and teacher sign the new section of the hardcopy candidate record sheets to confirm agreement of the total mark for sampled candidates;
- Moderator retains copy of record sheets for sampled candidates;
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Centres retain hard copy candidate record sheets for all candidates in case these are requested by CCEA;
- Marks to be submitted to CCEA by the date specified on the Calendar of Events/eCRS screen.
GCSE/AS/A2 Moving Image Arts
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;
- Receive sampling details for all Moving Image Arts via eCRS application upon submission of marks;
- Have samples available for collection by CCEA courier on the date specified in the Calendar of Events;
- Specific instructions for Moving Image Arts are available in our Moving Image Arts qualification area;
- Teacher comments on eCRS are only required if the centre feels the need to justify a mark awarded or has an issue, they wish to make CCEA aware of. Comment is not compulsory. However, if a candidate is awarded a mark of zero for any criteria the comments box should be completed to indicate if the zero is because:

GCSE Music
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks;

- All additional criteria must be selected in each candidate’s eCRS;

GCSE Physical Education (Visit)
