Does your Centre Require A2C?
If you want to send entries and receive results electronically, your centre will need to download the free A2C Migration Application software.
If your centre is new and wishes to take CCEA examinations, you will have to register your centre’s details with CCEA before you can download the A2C Migration Application.
CCEA will issue your Examinations Officer with a secure username and password. These will be needed during the process of downloading and installing the A2C Migration Application.
To register your centre with CCEA and to get a secure Examinations Officer username and password, please contact: [email protected]
If your centre wants to start using the A2C Migration Application software, you need to establish whether it operates as multi-centre or as an individual centre.
- A multi-centre is a centre that has a number of associated centres at different sites. The multi-centre, for example a Further Education College, takes responsibility for sending the associated centres’ entries and receiving all the results files.
- An individual centre is a single centre that sends its own entries and receives its own results files.

Generating an access key (for each awarding organisation)
When you have downloaded the A2C Migration Application software and your centre has registered and received a secure Examinations Officer username and password for each Awarding Organisation, you need to generate an access key for each Awarding Organisation that you want to use.
A multi-centre requires a multi-centre access key. If your centre requires a multi-centre access key, you must request this from the Awarding Organisation (details listed on the A2C contact section).
Individual centres can download their own access keys from the A2C Migration Application, by selecting the Status tab on the left of the screen.
To generate an access key for CCEA, select the CCEA tab and log in using your secure CCEA Examinations Officer username and password.
If you do not have a secure Examinations Officer username and password for CCEA, contact [email protected]
NB: Each Awarding Organisation has their own web page to download individual access keys.
Once an access key for CCEA has been generated, you must import the access key into the A2C Migration Application by selecting the Settings tab on the A2C Migration Application.
Once you have imported your access key for a specific Awarding Organisation into the A2C Migration Application, you are set up with that Awarding Organisation to send entries and receive results via A2C.
You will need to repeat this process for each Awarding Organisation that you wish to use.
This online tutorial will help you with setting up access keys and the basics of how to use the A2C Migration Application.
