Art and Design

Subject Code: 3510

CCEA qualifications in Art and Design are available at Entry Level, GCSE and GCE. We also offer a GCSE in Contemporary Crafts.

CCEA’s Art and Design and Contemporary Crafts qualifications help students develop the skills and understanding to observe, interpret, respond to and shape our visual environment. They learn how to understand the contexts and conventions of art, craft and design and develop their visual language and technical skills. This helps them to communicate ideas, feelings and personal viewpoints using a wide range of traditional and contemporary disciplines and media. The study of art, craft and design encourages students to value materials, aesthetics and craftsmanship.

From Entry Level to A2, CCEA’s Art and Design and Contemporary Crafts qualifications prepare students for further study and a range of careers, building dexterity and fine motor skills, understanding of employability and business models, personal confidence, and individuality, problem-solving and collaborative skills, curiosity and creativity.
