The National Qualifications Framework (NQF) sets out the levels against which a qualification can be regulated in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The NQF helps learners make informed decisions about the qualifications they need. They can compare the levels of different qualifications and identify clear progression routes for their chosen career.
Learners can use The Register of Regulated Qualifications to get up-to-date information on the current NQF level for all regulated qualifications.
Qualifications Can Cross Boundaries
The Qualifications Can Cross Boundaries document is a rough guide to comparing qualifications in the UK and Ireland, as well as more broadly with the European qualifications frameworks (The European Qualifications Framework and the Framework for Qualifications of the European Higher Education Area) giving an indication of how qualifications compare across existing national boundaries.
