Why order this?

This guide, designed primarily for use in Primary Schools, can be used with your teachers to embed Assessment for Learning across the curriculum in your school.

Within the guide there is a focus on four key elements of AFL

  • sharing of learning intentions and what counts as success;
  • effective questioning;
  • formative feedback (feedback that moves learning forward); and
  • scaffolding reflection.

Research collated by the Education Endowment Foundation tells us that feedback, a key element of AfL, when done well, has a very high effect on pupils’ learning across all age groups. It is worth doing but must be supported by staff development too. This guide provides a tool to assist with that.

If you would like to order this guide please email cceadistribution@ccea.org.uk
