A new qualification is being introduced to the CCEA portfolio of A Level specifications. A Level Professional Business Services, for first teaching September 2017, is aimed at those learners who wish to develop industry related skills and experiences that will equip them for a career in a variety of growing sectors.
The introduction of A Level Professional Business Services is to support the predicted growth of the sector and the need to develop a more appropriately skilled workforce for the sector (UKCES Report 2015).
CCEA's new A Level has been developed in partnership with further and higher education and local employers, including Deloitte, Neueda, CME Group and Novosco. A Level Professional Business Services is an innovative qualification that will provide opportunities for learners into careers such as business consulting, accountancy, project management, IT consulting, HR management and forensic accounting.
This qualification would complement a school’s offering of business qualifications. There are three units at AS and A2 level:
- Introduction to Professional Business Services
- Human Resources Services
- Financial Decision Making
- Technology in Business
- Leadership and Management
- Project Management Skills and Processes
The qualification is assessed internally and externally at both stages.
