Mathematics Launch and Support events – now available!

CCEA has confirmed dates for a series of launch and support events for our suite of revised Mathematics specifications, all for first teaching September 2017. The events will cover: GCSE & A Level Mathematics, GCSE & A Level Further Mathematics, and our new GCSE Statistics qualification (also first teaching September 2017).

GCSE Statistics is a new addition to the CCEA Mathematics portfolio and provides learners with the opportunity to:

  • build on the skills and capabilities developed through the delivery of the Key Stage 3;
  • develop the application of skills to real life contexts;
  • learn statistical skills, knowledge and understanding to support their GCSE studies and enable them to progress to further academic and vocational study and to employment; and,
  • apply the complete statistical problem solving process within the assessment module.

The new GCSE Statistics is available at Foundation and Higher Tiers.

The launch and support events are part of CCEA’s ReVision programme and will take place across Northern Ireland between March and June 2017. Each event will provide an informative introduction to the revised specifications: highlighting specification and assessment changes and detailing the resources available to support teachers in the delivery of our revised/new specifications.

These are full day events (9.30am to 3.30pm) and are free to attend.
