CCEA are holding a series of training events to support schools with the teaching of Controversial Issues.
Addressing the teaching of controversial issues can be difficult for school leaders and teachers. Controversial and sensitive issues can arise in all subjects, whether they are planned or unplanned.
Schools and all subject teachers need to be prepared to discuss these issues with young people.
If you are a head of department, member of senior leadership team or a teacher in a leadership or school development post, we would like you to join us for a half day training course which will introduce an online Fronter course for teaching Controversial Issues.
Topics covered will include:
- Exploring Controversial issues
- Challenges and Benefits of Teaching Controversial Issues
- The Role of the Teacher
- Creating a Safe Learning Environment
