CCEA is delighted to announce that all subjects in Phase 1 of our GCSE revised specifications have been accredited for first teaching September 2017. GCSE’s Technology and Design and Motor Vehicle and Road User Studies are the latest and final revised specifications in Phase 1 to achieve accreditation status.
These specifications are part of CCEA’s The ReVision programme and follow on from the recent accreditation of the first five GCSE subjects to receive accreditation: English Literature, Food and Nutrition, Child Development, Art and Design, and Physical Education. All seven GCSE specifications are available online to view and download on The ReVision section of our website.
CCEA is following a phased delivery of our GCSE specifications comprising of five phases with seven or eight specifications introduced at each phase. Follow the links below to view our newly accredited draft specifications. These specifications are currently undergoing pre-publication checks before we publish the final version online.
GCSE Technology and Design
The newly revised GCSE Technology and Design specification has one controlled assessment unit which is worth 50% and two examination units which are each worth 25%. The revised specification encourages students to be creative, innovative and be prepared to take design risk and to see the wider relevance of high quality design and technology.
GCSE Motor Vehicle and Road User Studies
The newly revised GCSE Motor Vehicle and Road User Studies specification will allow candidates to develop a positive and understanding attitude to the road and to other road users. The specification includes a revised practical activity and up-to-date legislation on motoring laws.
Look out for information about support events and materials for these subjects which will be available from November through to June 2017. Join the CCEA mailing list today to keep up to date on the accreditation of our remaining GCSE’s, support materials and other news.
