Opportunity to participate in Key Stage 3 Using ICT ‘Taster Events’

CCEA facilitated a number of Taster Events for Using ICT last year. A number of the events were heavily oversubscribed and in response to feedback I am delighted to inform you that we are re-running a number of the most popular ones again this year.

In response, we have organised a series of Taster Events aimed at supporting teachers, in particular those teachers who have been identified as contributing to assessment and reporting of Using ICT in Key Stage 3.

The objectives of the events are to:

  • increase awareness of ICT as imperative to priorities as outlined in the 2011-2015 Programme for Government;
  • increase understanding of the importance of Using ICT as a Cross-Curricular Skill;
  • demonstrate the use of some software and how it can be used to address the curriculum and assessment requirements.

Substitute cover is available for those who choose to attend. However, places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

I would be extremely grateful if you would encourage the appropriate staff to register for these events via www.ccea.org.uk/events as they aim to highlight the importance of the skill of Using ICT and also to respond to feedback requests for support in this area.

Yours faithfully
