Turner Prize inspires a celebration of Young CCEA Artists

Student artists and filmmakers are making their mark in the City of Culture in a showcase of their creative talent.

The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) will be showcasing a collection of some of the best contemporary work of A level Art and Design students at an exhibition in The Void Gallery from 19-29 November 2013.

Meanwhile on 26 November 2013 a selection of the most impressive short films and animations by GCSE and A level CCEA Moving Image Arts students will be shown on the big screen at Brunswick Cinema.

Speaking about the upcoming events CCEA Interim Chief Executive Richard Hanna commented:

"With so many exciting and diverse events happening as part of this year’s City of Culture, including the Turner Prize 2013, CCEA is pleased to work in partnership with City of Culture, The Foyle Film festival and The Void Community Gallery, to showcase the fantastic work of young artists.

These events are an opportunity to tap into the excellent work being created by the next generation of artists and filmmakers emerging from Northern Ireland schools."
