The A2C project is designed to improve the system for sharing and exchanging examination related data between Awarding Bodies and Centres.
The A2C project is being led by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) alongside awarding bodies throughout the UK, of which CCEA is one.
There are two distinct aspects to the A2C project:
- A new transport service will be provided to replace the current EDI Carriers by August 2012. During the 2011/2012 Academic year, Centres will be invited to download a free interim Migration Application. Once this software has been downloaded there will be no need for Centres to renew contracts with their EDI providers.
- Adoption of new, more sophisticated data standards for all exam related information. This will be introduced to Centres between September 2012 and December 2014. Further information on this phase will be provided in due course.
Support for the Project
For Northern Ireland Centres using C2K
Support for the installation of the new transport service (Migration Application) will be provided by C2K.
For Non C2K Centres and English Centres using CCEA
Support for the installation of the new transport service (Migration Application) will be provided by AVCO.
