SEN Conference 2018
In August 2018, CCEA held its second annual Special Educational Needs (SEN) Conference. The one day conference, held at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), Loughry Campus in Cookstown, brought together 200 teachers and SEN co-ordinators from 90 schools across Northern Ireland. Throughout the day, attendees took part in a wide range of workshops facilitated by teachers, allied professionals and academics. Topics included: inclusive sports; relationships and sexuality education; using sensory resources; digital skills and science through stories. The conference also saw the launch of CCEA's Q Skills software which will be available for every school in Northern Ireland. The Q Skills software is designed to complement the Q Skills assessment resource, allowing learners' progress to be tracked, measured and reported, enabling teachers to support the individual needs within their classroom.
