Post-Primary Events

Available to book

CCEA provide a range of face to face training events and webinars to support primary and Key Stage 3 teachers in learning, teaching and assessment. These include scheduled courses in both English and Irish Medium on, for example, Standard Setting Support in Communication, Using Mathematics and Using ICT; Web Design workshops and SEN Support sessions.

Events are held at CCEA, or an external venue such as:

  • an Education Authority site,
  • hotel premises, or
  • C2k training suites.

Webinars are delivered via Collaborate desktop video conferencing.

We endeavour to offer training across Northern Ireland according to capacity and suitable venues that CCEA can avail of.

 Communication/Literacy

Reading Strategies across the Curriculum

This programme is designed to assist teachers who are teaching pupils whose literacy currently prevents them from being able to access the texts in subjects across the curriculum. It demonstrates easy-to-implement strategies to help weaker readers access the curriculum, including peer reading.

Intended Audience:
Heads of Department across the curriculum/ All Key Stage 3 teachers

Delivery Mode:
Full day face-to-face session.

 Mathematics and Numeracy

Problem Solving Conference

Following the launch of the new problem solving materials for Key Stage 3, CCEA will be hosting a conference for teachers delivering Mathematics in Northern Ireland. The conference will have keynote speakers and workshops where teachers can hear about the importance of problem solving as well as seeing what resources and support are available to them.

 Using ICT

Using ICT - Co-ordinators’ Briefing

These sessions will provide support and advice to Using ICT co-ordinators whose schools are being Moderated in Using ICT in 2017/18.

Using ICT co-ordinators from schools who are being Moderated in Using ICT in 2017/18.

Half day face-to-face session.

Financial Capability

Financial Capability Launch Event

These sessions will be part of a launch of Key Stage 3 materials to support the delivery of Financial Capability across the curriculum. Teachers will have an opportunity to learn about the materials, why Financial Capability is important and see how to provide motivating and meaningful contexts to enrich many aspects of the curriculum.

Intended Audience:
Key Stage 3 teachers.

Delivery Mode:
Half day face-to-face sessions.
