Post-Primary Events

Available to book

CCEA provide a range of face to face training events to support primary and Key Stage 3 teachers in learning, teaching and assessment. These include scheduled courses in both English and Irish Medium on, for example, Standard Setting Support in Communication, Using Mathematics and Using ICT and on Q skills and Quest.

Events are held at CCEA, or an external venue such as:

  • an Education Authority site,
  • hotel premises, or
  • C2k training suites.

Talking and Listening Support Officers

Support Officers visit individual schools as INSET or twilight to deliver school specific training with a focus on Talking and Listening.

Intended Audience
Individual departments/clusters/HOD.

Information sent out to all schools in September.

Delivery Mode:
After school meetings/sessions in INSET days.

 Using Mathematics

Supporting Teacher Judgements Sessions

The purpose of these workshops is to provide teachers with an opportunity to discuss their own pupil work, the level being awarded to it and receive feedback from a moderator on whether or not judgements are in line with expected standards.

Intended Audience:
Teachers of any subject that are making judgements regarding pupil work.

Delivery Mode:
Time slot sessions.
Half-day teacher release.

The cluster sessions will allow schools to engage in professional dialogue and agree standards for pupil work.

Intended Audience
Primary: Literacy/Assessment Coordinators
Post Primary: teachers involved in the assessment of the Cross-Curricular Skill of Communication.

 Using Mathematics

Cross-Phase Cluster

The cluster sessions will allow schools to engage in professional dialogue and agree standards for pupil work, specifically in the Knowledge and Understanding areas of Shape and Space and Measures.

Intended Audience
Primary: Mathematics &Numeracy /Assessment Coordinators
Post Primary: teachers involved in the assessment of the Cross-Curricular Skill of Using Mathematics.
