Understanding 1916 is a hub for some of the key learning aids and information sites related to the main events of 1916, to their causes and consequences and their ongoing legacy for us today.

It contains a wide range of learning materials, curricular guides and links to explore and considers key questions across a number of subject areas, providing opportunities to address 1916 within the Northern Ireland Curriculum, including the Cross-Curricular Skills and Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities.

This resource presents teachers and learners with the tools to ensure that this Centenary is seized as an opportunity to learn and reflect on our past in order to inform our future, and to develop learning in a positive, inclusive and constructive environment.
