The Department of Education intends that the Annual Report to parents should contain largely the same report headings as last year. It must include the school name and be signed and dated by the principal.
However, the Department of Education intends flexibility to allow reports to reflect the ethos and needs of individual schools. Schools can decide the following:
- Order of the headings;
- Size of the boxes;
- Font style and size; and
- Length of report.
Please note, schools can choose to include scores in their reports if they wish to do so.
The Education (Pupil Reporting) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 intends that teachers should report briefly the pupil’s educational and other achievements against headings that are in line with the revised curriculum.
