The Investors in People (IiP) standard is a business development tool designed to advance an organisation’s performance through the management and development of its people.
The Standard is a nationally quality standard which sets a level of good practice to which organisations should adhere. It provides a framework for improving organisational performance and competitiveness through a planned approach to setting and communicating business objectives and developing people to meet these objectives.
CCEA believes that improving staff knowledge and skills is fundamental to the continued success of the organisation and are totally committed to the ethos of the IiP standard.
CCEA first achieved accreditation to the standard in 2002, and has been successfully re-accredited in June 2006, 2009, and achieved silver status in June 2012 and again in December 2015.
Comments from the assessor following 2015 re-accreditation are as follows:
- Strategic priorities are clearly communicated and provide a focus for action.
- Extensive evidence of a culture that values and promotes empowerment; with staff having scope to exercise control over their working situations.
- Effective learning and development provision that utilises a rich blend of solutions and is clearly focused on maintaining a high standard of service, as well as meeting emerging needs.
